Dedication

There was a time, long ago, when I met a gypsy... a gypsy named Yaris, and I immediately identified with him because of his different way of being.....

He was sweet as the finest flower, but rebellious like fire that stirs in the wind, causing heat to those around him.... Those who do not understand that this rebelliousness actually means courage and inner strength, without patience - they move away, thus missing the best of the party.

At all the events we had, he was there, near the bonfire, with his eyes fixed on that flame, he needed to see that fire overcome the embers once again. That was Yaris.

One day, curious, I asked him why he always waited for the fire to go out, the answer he gave me, to this day, impresses and moves me.

- I need to see justice, I need to see that the fire will overcome the one who challenged it, the one who lit it and thought he would lose, who was weak, who was a coward.

- I then said to him: But don't you think that a simple gust of air could end this fight before the fire consumes everything?

- And with a defiant look at me he said: The air is cowardly, it takes advantage of infiltrating a fight, because no one can see it. That's why I root for the fire, for its courage in being who and how it is, and never needing to prove anything to anyone, not even that it exists, because it is there and everyone can see it, but the air cannot.

I never forgot that dialogue. I started following him and saw him have many other confrontations about justice, with many other things. Comparing who really deserved to win the fight. No matter who or what it was, the weaker one had to win, precisely because he was weaker.

What he "still" didn't realize is that strength is not always a sign of victory, or of bravery, or of merit. Often times, where we are not seen, we have a much greater chance of overcoming what destroys us. What we think will destroy us will be just an element that, with a small breath, we can turn everything that tends to destroy us into something else.

I know that one day, Yaris, will come to the conclusion that it is not always easy to be fire, but being smoke is much more important, and even if we disagree, it is fairer.
